EPS Appoints New

 Virginia PROGRAM DIRECTOR

EPS has appointed Gregory Byrne as the director of EPS Virginia. Byrne will replace interim director and EPS instructor Marie Kordes, who served after Pamela Blankenship resigned in September.

 

Byrne, who attended EPS in the early 1990s then went on to earn his M.A. in Pastoral Studies from Washington Theological Union, served as Coordinator of Adult Formation at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in Washington, D.C. He was the Director of Faith Formation at Nativity Catholic Church in Brandon, Florida, for five years, then moved to the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, where he has served as the Faith Formation Consultant for the last 18 months.

 

Byrne has directed the catechumenate, trained catechists, chosen educational material and taught Scripture and theology.

 

He begin his his position November 26.
